I can’t believe it’s been so long since my last post! Everything has just been crazy with the launch of Crash and Satellite 56 (our 5th and 6th grade ministry), but I’m back!

Our current message series is called, “I AM REBEL” and we’ll be talking about things that truly need people standing up and rebelling against. It seems that today, most teens rebel against things that don’t matter, and our hope through this series is that they might find the strength and courage to stand up and rebel against true injustices in this world. It’s going to be a fun series!

Also, this week (Sept. 9) we’re going to have an inflatable joust during the pre-service time. It’s going to be a good one tonight!

Have FUN!

Matt

Crash, the weekly worship experience 7 months in the making, starts THIS WEDNESDAY!!! Join students all over this great city at the Lake Hills Worship Center, as we kick-off Crash!! Doors will open at 6:30pm for all the pre-service fun including: PS3, Wii, XBox, Basketball, Homework Help, Pizza ($1/slice), friends, and so much more! Then, at 7:30… let the worship begin! Make sure to send them with a towel and sunscreen, as we will be on the boat for 4 hours. The event is FREE, so they will not need any money. We will have water and other drinks on the boat with us as well. Info for the trip is below, if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. Thanks so much!

Join us at the Worship Center this Friday night for something called, “Friday Night Fever”!!! We’ll have the game systems hooked up on the flat screens in the lobby, the basketball goal set up outside, and then a huge game of Capture-the-Flag-in-the-dark. It’s going to be a great time of hanging out, playing some games, and running around in the parking lot fully donned in glow-in-the-dark necklaces. You won’t want to miss this game night!!!

TIME: 8:00pm – 10:30pm

LOCATION: The Worship Center

WHAT TO BRING: $5 for pizza, drinks, and snacks (you may also want sneakers for the capture-the-flag part)

FRIDAY, JULY 10: CHUCK NORRIS DAY

Join us at the Warehouse for a little thing we like to call, “War Games”!!! In the past you’ve heard of Crud Wars… well this is that, and so, so much more!!! We’ll be partaking in a food fight, we’ll be traveling down the messy slip-n-slide, we’ll be launching some water balloons, and we might even bust out a couple dozen bottles of shaving cream. So, don’t miss out on this super messy, super fun day of War Games!!!

Time: 11am-1pm

Location: The Warehouse

What to Bring: Old clothes (you might not want them when we are done), a fresh change of clothes, an old pair of sneakers (you’ll definitely want sneakers since we will be running around in the big field by the Warehouse throwing stuff at each other, you can even donate your old sneakers when you’re done!), a towel, and all your friends!

*We will not have lunch at this event, so please come already fed, or ready to eat post War Games

Starting this week, I will be sending out a weekly E-Newsletter with lots of stuff on the ministry. Here’s the info on that newsletter and it’s in a form that you can copy/paste it and forward it on to any other families who you think might be interested in receiving the E-Newsletter.

Thanks!!!

Dear Parents of an incoming 7th and/or 8th grader,

I will be sending out a weekly E-Newsletter with everyone going on in the Middle School Ministry including message series, events, where we’re headed, and more. If you would like to be a part of this E-Newsletter, please email me (mwilliams@LHC.org) with the email address you would like it sent to.

In addition to this new E-Newsletter, the Middle School Blog (lhcmiddleschool.wordpress.com) and the Middle School Website (www.LHC.org/middleschool) will continue to be updated regularly. We still have a lot of summer left and a ton of sweet things planned for the Middle Schoolers to participate in before we kick off the new Fall semester.

Please feel free to forward this on to any families you think might be interested in being included! Thanks so much for all your help in ministering to the Middle Schoolers of the ATX!
